The Presidential retreat of Camp David is located in Maryland, a state in the eastern region of the United States. The retreat covers an area of 180 acres in the Catoctin Mountain Park and is located about 70 miles northwest of Washington, D.C. It is often used as a secluded location where the President of the United States can hold meetings, engage in informal discussions with foreign leaders, or take a break from their hectic schedule. The retreat has been used by many Presidents throughout history, including Franklin D. Roosevelt, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Barack Obama.
