Rubbing lemon on the face is good for fighting against acne. Lemon’s astringent properties help to treat oily skin as well. However, applying lemon juice on the face for a prolonged time may cause skin irritations due to its highly acidic nature. If there is a burning sensation then lemon juice must be rinsed immediately. Rubbing lemon on the face for up to a maximum of 15 minutes is advisable.

  3. Rubbing your face with lemon has both benefits and drawbacks. Lemon juice has natural antibacterial and astringent properties, which brighten the skin and reduce oiliness. However, it is also very acidic, which can irritate and dry out the skin, especially if you use it frequently or if you have sensitive skin. It can also increase the skin's sensitivity to sunlight, which can lead to sunburn. For safer and more effective results, it's best to use products specifically designed for your skin type and consult a dermatologist before trying home remedies.

Rubbing lemon directly on your face can offer some skin benefits due to its vitamin C and citric acid content, but the risks—especially irritation and sun sensitivity—often outweigh them, making it generally inadvisable without precautions.

    ### Pros and Cons

    | Aspect | Pros | Cons |
    |--------------|----------------------------------------------------------------------|----------------------------------------------------------------------|
    | **Skin Brightening & Exfoliation** | May lighten dark spots, acne scars, or age spots via citric acid's exfoliating AHA properties. | Can cause dryness, redness, peeling, or chemical burns from high acidity. |
    | **Acne & Oil Control** | Antimicrobial effects may reduce acne-causing bacteria; acts as a natural astringent to tighten pores. | Disrupts skin's pH balance, leading to irritation or worsened breakouts, especially on sensitive skin. |
    | **Other Effects** | Boosts collagen to smooth fine lines; may help psoriasis or dandruff by removing dead cells. | Increases sunburn risk (phytophotodermatitis: blisters/redness from sun exposure); potential for permanent damage like leukoderma (white patches) or scarring. |

**Bottom line**: Skip direct rubbing—it's risky and not worth it for most people. If you try, dilute heavily (1:4 lemon-to-water), patch-test first, apply only as a spot treatment, and avoid sun for 24+ hours. Better alternatives: Use stabilized vitamin C serums or niacinamide products for similar glow without the harm. Consult a dermatologist for personalized advice!

Why ghee is better than olive oil?

What’s healthier, olive oil or ghee?      Ghee is better than olive oil. Ghee has a high smoke point when compared to vegetable oils including olive oil. A high smoke point means less toxic compound acrylamide is produced while cooking. Acrylamide in high doses can cause cancer. Ghee contains butyric acid which is good for the colon and regulates blood sugar and cholesterol levels. While olive oil contains vitamin E ghee contains fat-soluble vitamins A, E, D, and K. Considering the common deficiency of sunlight vitamin  D nowadays cooking with ghee is much beneficial. Ghee is lactose-free, has anti-inflammatory properties, and has a rich creamy taste with great aroma. Ghee is the better option for those who follow a paleo or ketogenic diet due to its rich healthy fat content.
