There are many kind of turtles, crocodiles, lobsters and alligators that live longer because of their ability to tackle senescence.
But what animal can live forever? I am in search of a really immortal creature on earth. Yes there are many arguments there on web. But I need an exact, proven answer.

Unfortunately, no animal on Earth is truly immortal. All living organisms will eventually die, even if they don't age or succumb to disease or injury.

The one and only biologically immortal species on earth is a kind of jellyfish known as immortal jellyfish. The scientific name of this jellyfish species is Turritopsis Dohrnni. These type of jellyfishes are found in Mediterranean sea.

What this jellyfish actually doing is they prevent ageing by reverse cycling their growth from adult to infant. Thus they stays immortal through this technique by tricking even the death. Turritopsis Dohrnni's back ageing has been proved in lab observations.
There is another species that seen on Carribean Islands and North America called as Turritopsis Nutricula which is often mistaken as Immortal jellyfish by several medias and websites. And the picture shown in these websites and medias are Turritopsis Rubra which is seen on New Zealand islands. Both these species Nutricula and Rubra has not been observed to find the life cycle reversal like Dohrnii does.
So the title for creature which never dies belongs to the Turritopsis Dohrnii ( the actual immortal jellyfish ).

Oh yes there is. It is the immortal jellyfish. It cheats death by reversing its lifecycle.

The law of nature subjects every living thing to transformation including death. So I don't believe there is any animal that does not die, some animals may not die but can change from one form to another example is the caterpillar that transforms into a butterfly.

I can say that this changing for, is the stages of growth hence changes but its a natural occurrence. It was made to pass these stages just like humans.
more_vert
Yeah that is what the immortal jellyfish does. It keeps changing from one form to another in its lifecycle thereby cheating death.
more_vert
That is true, and similar to the immortal jellyfish, if it suffers damage it shrinks on itself, reabsorbing its tentacles and losing its ability to swim. It then settles on the seafloor as a blob-like cyst, transforming just like the caterpillar to a butterfly.

Okay I must say thanks so much I have never known this. So it just keeps on regrowing hence cannot age and die. That's good to know but I re9fear jelly fish.

People claim that some jelly fish are immortal. To me this is a hoax because every creature tha reproduces also dies.Think about it,if they never died then the ocean would be full.

Just hear what you are saying. I am sure they are prey to some animals. Thus their population is constantly reduced. The term 'biologically immortal' is for natural death not for any kind of death.
more_vert
Technically speaking, 'Biological Immortality' is the immortality of a species. If one Immortal Jellyfish was to die that wouldn't impact the immortality. Immortal Jellyfish also can't die, they can turn back time, reverting to an earlier stage of their life cycle, if they were to 'die' they would be able to turn back time to bfore they died.

Turritopsis dohrnii is found on the earth which is in the deepest part of the ocean and it never dies which has been told by the scientists.

But according to my opinion, there is a lot of desire inside man which never dies. Man is sure to die but desire never dies, it is also like an animal on this earth which is found inside every human being.

Jellyfish at number one. They are known as immortal animals.

Then there are Sturdy turtles. They have been known to live for centuries, and researches have found that their organs don't seem to break down over time.

There are also starfish and octopus which have the capacity to regenerate organs. But they can't live for ever.

Did you ever wonder if you could return to being a child? This species of jellyfish can! Found in the waters of Japan and the Mediterranean sea, the immortal jellyfish is the only animal which can go back to being sexually immature after reaching maturity.

Unfortunately, no animal is truly immortal. Although some species may be able to live for hundreds or even thousands of years, they will eventually die of old age.
